About Our Company
At Russell Construction, all it takes is looking back to our founder’s primary focus to see what we’re all about: doing good work and doing the job right the first time. We’ve done that by building and nurturing a strong team of good people who are just as committed to quality as our founder was back in 1987.
HISTORY
When John Russell started out as a carpenter in St. Joseph, Missouri, his number one priority was to do quality work. It was that dedicated work ethic that caught the notice of his supervisors, who soon promoted him into management. In that role, John defied his humble roots and changed his trajectory by excelling as a business leader. With this experience and years of hard work in hand, he ultimately decided in 1987 to start his own business, Russell Construction.
After restructuring, John Russell created the blueprint that would provide the foundation for Russell Construction’s past and current success, and the company began providing services for large retailers such as Kmart and Target – and proving that determination and a strong work ethic would always be Russell’s keys to success. In 2000, John Russell proudly passed the management of Russell Construction to his sons, Matt Russell and Ty Russell. Since that time, the company has continued to thrive and grow, providing services for the likes of Kroger, Sears, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Buffalo Wild Wings, and many more.
LEADERSHIP
Ty Russell
President
Ty began working in the retail construction industry when he was 16 years old. He spent his summers on the road traveling with his father and Russell Construction founder John Russell, working on Kmart and Montgomery Wards stores. After graduating high school in 1981, Ty was employed by a retail construction contractor out of Conroe, TX and worked as a construction superintendent until 1992. In 1992 he started working for Russell Construction with his father and moved into project management in 1996. In 2000 Ty became President of Russell Construction.
Matt Russell
Vice President
Matt graduated high school in 1985 and started working in the construction industry with a commercial flooring contractor the same year. In 1987 he decided to serve his country in the US Navy. In 1991 Matt moved to Conroe, TX and began working at UHAUL and moved through the ranks into management within the 1st year. He left the company in 1996 as general manager of one of the companies’ largest Houston locations. In 1996 he began work at Russell Construction. In 2000 he became Vice President of Russell Construction.
Rosanna Russell
Board Secretary
Rosanna graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a BBA in Marketing and entered a career in advertising project management. With the opportunity to join the family business in 2008, she put her skills to work as a Project Manager for Russell Construction. Rosanna brings expertise in digital applications, process creation and productivity tools. She counts Microsoft Project, Google Workspace, Procore, Adobe Creative Cloud, and several other applications among her strengths.
